My Camera Equipment

One of the most common questions I get is what my camera equipment is. This is not the equipment that I started out with and has taken years of saving and investing to get to the point where I am today. I’ll make sure to do some research and compile a list of beginner equipment if you’re just starting out.

CAMERA

The camera is I use for shooting photos is the Nikon D850. I got this gem last year and I’ve been obsessed with the photo quality since I took my first photo with it. My newest lens I’ve been shooting with is the Nikon 50mm f/1.4 lens which makes the photo super crisp and gives an amazing depth of field.

CAMERA ACCESSORIES

The accessories for my Nikon camera is just as important. It requires an XQD and SD card to shoot since the RAW files are so large. I had to get a special reader for the XQD card. Also, I like to shoot on just the SD card if I’m on the go so I can use a portable reader to transfer them to my phone.

It’s a good idea to always buy extra batteries especially when you’re doing shoots back to back.

FUN THINGS

The fun things to get for cameras are the accessories that enhance your photos. I love using fractals and flash to add some “spice” to a photo. The flash is a great beginner flash, but I’m going to be investing in a better one for the holidays so stay tuned!

STUDIO THINGS

I’ve included everything I use for my photo studio! The backdrops I use range from Savage paper rolls to fabric backdrops from Joanns. This is where you can truly get creative.

I also linked my camera backpack under this. However, it is not suitable for multiple cameras and lenses. It’s a great travel and starter backpack, but I’m currently looking to upgrade to a larger one.

VIDEO CAMERA

I recently got a new video camera and it’s the Fujifilm X-T4 which I’m extremely impressed with. My favorite features include: continuous autofocus, a screen that faces you when you film, and 4K video. The auto settings are really great for videos. The only drawback are that the photos aren’t as good as my Nikon.
